By attaching both Joy-Cons to the Joy-Con holder, they work together like a traditional controller, and without the holder they work independently, like two controllers in their own right.

By giving a Joy-Con to a friend, you can take them on or cooperate with them in multiplayer, wherever you are.

Not only can you hold a Joy-Con vertically or horizontally to play, you can also use both at the same time by holding one in each hand.

Attach the Joy-Con straps supplied and slip them around your wrists to take advantage of the Joy-Con's gyroscope. By holding a Joy-Con sideways, the SL/SR buttons are also easily accessible.

A sense of touch that goes beyond simple vibrations

Imagine the Joy-Con as a glass containing ice cubes. Thanks to HD vibrations, as you move and tilt the Joy-Con, you can feel the ice cubes clink together.

There's one, there's another... the HD vibrations are so realistic that you can even tell how many ice cubes there are, almost as if you were holding a glass in your hand.

The Joy-Con's built-in vibration function delivers an immersive gaming experience that images and sound alone cannot reproduce.

Shape, motion and distance detection

The infrared motion-sensing camera in the Joy-Con (R) is capable of detecting the shape, movement and distance of objects captured by the camera.

It can, for example, detect how far away a player's hand is, or whether the hand takes on a specific shape such as in the rock-leaf-scissors game. This opens the way to new forms of gameplay that were previously unfeasible!
